A casino gaming portal that enables casino goers to play in the comfort of their homes.
The best way to gamble is through the comfort of your own
home or simply just from anywhere.
Having a platform that gives casino goers a medium where they
can play their favorite casino games simply just from anywhere as long as they
have an internet connection.
This particular project is made from scratch. I managed to
emphatize and came up with solutions to the problems by collaborating with the
stakeholders, developers, and target users. We have managed to build a total
solution that is human centered and on the other hand profits the business.
Common problems that impact casino goers
1. You have to go to a particular casino to be able to play
2. Casino’s are far from their location
3. They spend while they play and have to order food, drinks,
etc.
4. Have difficulty finding a table or the machine they want
to play at
5. Additional payments like transportation, parking and
others
6. Getting into a brawl is possible

Persona creation through quantitative and qualitative
research
Through research we are able to come up with different
personas. We conducted interviews, and researched on the actual numbers of
people that actually goes to casinos and gamble vs the people who likes to play
online. Mostly prefers to go to a physical casino instead of playing online
even though that means they have to spend additional costs and be away from
their family. They said that playing online doesn’t seem secured and have found
it difficult to use and you have to jump from 1 site to another.

25 with a stable job who loves to play in Casino’s but finds
it hard because he needs to travel to a nearby casino just for him to be able
to play. He haven’t tried any online casino games yet, but he would love have
that experience.
Cindy Manabat
34 a mother two who is not fond of casino’s because no. 1 she
has to travel, no. 2 she doesn’t have enough money to gamble, but she would
definitely would want to try someday as long as she is assured of its
legitimacy and security. She also thinks it will not hinder chores of being a
house way by simply just playing online casinos for 30 mins. a day.

46 a gambler by nature who loves to play different types of
casino games and thinks that one day is not enough to play all the games he
wants if he will play in a casino. So he prefers to go play online. He have
tried different online casinos but he keeps on shifting because of difficulty
to use.
The solution is to build a platform that houses all your
favorite casino games. From slot machines, to roulette’s, card tables, etc. You
will be able to play them online and place your bets in the comfort of your own
home or basically from anywhere. By doing so we have created a solution for
casino goers.

Creating a sitemap via card sorting
To know the what functionalities and flows we have to build,
we take into consideration the views of the personas. Including the stake
holders, devs and others, we have come up with a usable list of
functionalities, and we have agreed to set phases as all functionalities is not
doable on a 8 weeks period. I was also able to create a sitemap based on the
listed initial functionalities and have also derived a human centered flow.
Learning
At this point I thought that I was on top of my game but
apparently the fun stuff is just about to begin. The stakeholders want’s to add
additional functionalities, all though the scope has already been in place and
the devs have already started to research and brainstorm on what type of
systems/codes/etc. That they will use to create those functionalities as we
work on an agile setup, still we need to go back and research and study if the
suggested additional functionalities is really impact-full or it can be
integrated in the other phases. So what I learned from this point is to give
space for the stakeholders incase they change their mind or decided to add
additional functionalities.
After all have been resolved and all functionalities are in
place I started to create low fidelity wireframes via XD. After completing I
created a prototype and presented to the stakeholders, devs and others. When I
got the signal that it’s a go we then proceed to user testing. Conducting lab
usability testing which was facilitated by a colleague and I as an observer. At
this point the devs are now starting to get a clearer picture and have also
started to create templates based on the wireframes with my guidance.
Learning
I learned through the test that has been conducted that a few
subjects are having a difficulty in drilling down the buy credits area, so with
this I am able to make adjustments to the wireframes and have made all often
used functionalities out side the main menu. It will act now as some sort of a
shortcuts widget hanging fixed on the website and 1 tap access via mobile.
Creation of initial
designs is now at play but at this stage the stakeholders decided to redefine
their logo (made by another graphic designer they commissioned). Taking this
into considerations, I started to create their new logo first defining the
colors to be used but of course with the inputs of the stakeholders as well.
When logo has been finalized I created 3 landing page mockup options and have
showed the stakeholders. When they have chosen which mockup I move on to
creating all the pages based on the wireframes. Per flow that is created it is
turned over to the dev for implementation. I used XD so the devs can just
simply grab the styles that I have set and have stayed and guided them all the
way and made sure that the designs, flows, and functionalities have been
implemented correctly.
This is a big from scratch project that aims to compete in the online casino gaming world era. The challenges are high and the pressure to complete it as fast as possible is at stake. Taking into consideration all this, we have managed to create this platform and have succeed in wrapping up the project in a span of 8 weeks. Though we have encountered some bugs along the way we have managed to make fixes and able to launch on a beta environment. Overall I may say that it is a success, and I am proud to be included in this endeavor. I learned overall to be more patient, be more engaging, be more collaborative, and be more in depth with stakeholders and be firm with decisions that are already set, but still be flexible whenever you see a more viable suggestion.
